GOVERNING BODY:
The College shall be managed/superintended by a regularly constituted Governing Body. The composition functions and other condition pertaining to the Governing Body shall be as per norms of the affiliating University and the regulations as laid down in the West Bengal Universities and Colleges (Administration and Regulation) Act, 2017.
CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE GOVERNING BODY:
The Governing Body should:
Accomplish the mission and strategic vision of the College, and act in accordance with the guidelines of the Government and the affiliating University for the implementation of long-term academic and administrative plans
Observe the performance of the College and the arrangements undertaken for the quality assurance which should be, where possible and appropriate, benchmarked against other Colleges
Assure compliance with the statutes, ordinances and provisions regulating the college, including regulations by statutory bodies, such as UGC, as well as regulations laid by the affiliating University
Ensure that the members of Governing Body maintain their character, transparencyand satisfactory image
Protect the property of the college from being used for personal benefits
Communicate with the Principal in need of any information and will not have any oral or written communication with other employees, and will reciprocate their decision through the Principal
Ensure that all abide by the motto that None Is Above the College
Adhere to other member’ s opinion and provide them chance to express, if necessary permit to register contradictory opinion
To conclude, it is the duty of all the members of the Governing Body to augment the performance of the College and to promote the College as a centre for educational excellence.
