GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE/CELL
Grievance Redressal System is a vital part of any administration. It is the responsibility of the College Administration to provide a secure and contented environment to all its Staff and Students. The Grievance Redressal Cell/Committee has been formed at Galsi Mahavidyalaya which serves as a vital unit for addressing concerns, complaints, and grievances of students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders. Committed to upholding fairness, transparency, and accountability, the cell ensures a conducive and harmonious environment within the college community. It functions as a platform where individuals can voice their grievances freely, confident in the knowledge that their concerns will be heard and addressed impartially.The grievances received by the Principalthrough the online grievance redressal window and or the grievance/ suggestion box kept outside the college office are forwarded to the concerned Committee members who look in to the problems depending upon the seriousness of the issue.The Committee continuously strives to take the best efforts possible to create a harmonious and conducive atmosphere to everyone in question.
OBJECTIVES OF THE GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE/CELL
The Grievance Redressal Committee/Cell has been developed to settle the grievances of the students and other stakeholders in a structured mechanism within a reasonable time period for further strengthening the bond of the students and other stakeholders with the institution by providing them with all kind of facilities to a level of satisfaction for maintaining a convenient ambience of academic teaching and learning.
The cell aims to:
- Provide a platform for individuals to express their concerns, complaints, and grievances in a confidential and non-judgmental manner.
- Ensure fair and impartial handling of grievances, respecting the rights and dignity of all parties involved.
- Identify systemic issues and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence of grievances in the future.
- Facilitate timely and appropriate redressal of grievances, striving to achieve satisfactory outcomes for all stakeholders
- Foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and mutual respect within the college community.
- Uphold the values and principles of justice, equity, and fairness in all grievance-related proceedings.
- Uphold the institutional ethos of Galsi Mahavidyalaya and contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of its members.
FUNCTIONS OF THE GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL COMMITTEE
• To accept written grievances from students and staff related to the system.
• To create and implement a mechanism to handle the reported grievances.
• To forward the findings to the Management if necessary for further action.
• To listen, record and scrutinize the grievances submitted to them by the Staff and Students and take necessary steps immediately.
• To attend to the grievances based on the authenticity and gravity of the criticisms made.
• To represent the grievances to the concerned section which may include maintenance, transport, academic, amenities etc.
• To convene periodical meetings to discuss whether the grievances have been settled.
• To make a follow-up of these matters at regular intervals till their final disposal.
• To maintain strict confidentiality, if necessary.
FORMATION
With the objectives of preventing unfair practices and to provide a mechanism to students and other stakeholders for redressal of their grievances the following Grievance Redressal Committee/Cell has been formed at Galsi Mahavidyalaya.

MECHANISM OF REDRESSAL OF GRIEVANCE
• The Grievance Redressal Committee/Cell (GRC) acts upon those cases which have been forwarded along with the necessary documents
• GRC considers only individual (not collective) grievances of specific nature of students, staff and other stakeholders.
• After receipt of the complaint/application the committee decides on the merit of the case regarding scope of further discussion investigation and prompt action.
• If required, the GRC may mediate between complainant and defendant against whom the complaint has been made.
• GRC adopts appropriate steps to redress the grievances made within a reasonable period of time.
• Finally, the cell gives report to the authority about the cases attended to and seek guidance from the higher authorities if necessary.
COMPLAINT MECHANISM
If anything, unfair/unjust happens with the students, staff and other stakeholders or any problem arises or if they notice any discrepancy in the institution that is not resolved informally, the incumbent may file a grievance with the College Grievance Redressal Committee/Cell. They may submit complaints or grievances into the Grievance Box located in the ground floor outside the college office or may lodge online complaint through the Grievance Redressal menu in the college website.
Incidences of ragging, sexual harassment, other forms of physical and psychological harassments should be reported to the appropriate authority of the respective cells. To prevent the occurrence and practice of such unfair activities Galsi Mahavidyalaya has formed Anti-ragging Squad, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and sexual harassment prevention cell,Grievance Redressal Committee/Cell, Equal Opportunity Cellall of which are functioning veryefficiently. All complaints are treated seriously, and appropriate actions against offenders are ensured in accordance with the rules and regulations.
PROCEDURE FOR LODGING COMPLAINT
